The new girls have moved into the coop. We now have six hens.

The new girls are starting to get new feathers.

After a lot of losses and unfortunate rooster/hen hatching ratios, we decided to get some pullets from the store. They will be paying for their keep now.

The new crop of chicken recruits are growing up fast. They have taken up residence in the enclosed coop. All the adult rosters are now free ranging.

What a fine batch of new chicks. We have a lot of colors this time. Supposedly Barred Rock and Cuckoo Maran roosters were the dads. Some Easter egger colored eggs though.

A new batch of chickens arrived at the farm via a bag of eggs given to us from our neighbor. We threw them in the incubator and have eight new chicks.

Unfortunately it looks Pancake is just a late bloomer. HE now is identifying as a rooster. We now have three roosters and NO hens. I predict issues in the future.

Snowy settling in for the night after a long day of scratching for bugs.

Pancake is not crowing at this time, does seem a little smaller, and has a flatter tail. Still hoping for a girl.

Tater seems to be the bigger of the two, is more erect in stature, and has a taller tail.
